Workers can scan their GoContractor QR code at your site entrance to check-in or out. Set up a site entrance device with the check-in QR code scanner.
How to get there: General contractor admins must be logged in to the GoContractor web app. They must also have the GoContractor Access App downloaded on to the site device. The device can be a phone or tablet that supports the App.
The Check-In feature must also be enabled for the account. If it is not enabled please email support@gocontractor.com
How does the QR code scanner for check-in work?
The QR code scanner can be set up on an IOS/Android phone or tablet that supports the GoContractor Access App. Place the device at the site entrance.
When workers arrive to site, they can check-in to site by scanning their worker QR code. When they leave site they can scan to check-out.
To access a worker QR code, the worker can either log in to the GoContractor Connect App, select 'MY CARDS' or they can scan their worker 'sticker'. This will open their worker QR code.
Scan this worker QR code against the scanner on the device.
Qualified vs Unqualified
The scanner will read the worker QR code to see if the worker is qualified for the site.
Qualified
If the worker is qualified, the scanner will show a green tick ✅ . The worker can continue on to site.
The worker is now checked in to the site. Admins can see the worker checked in to the site on the admin portal.
The worker can scan to check-out when they are leaving site, otherwise they will stay checked in.
Unqualified
If the worker is not qualified to enter site, the scanner will show a red 'X'.
In the case that the worker is not qualified, they can use the GoContractor Connect App to see what outstanding tasks they need to complete.
If they have completed everything required but something is waiting for approval by an admin, they will see 'waiting for approval'. They should contact an admin in this instance to progress the approval.
How do I set up the QR code scanner for check-in?
There are two parts to setting up a QR code scanner for check-in. The first part happens inside the admin portal. The second part happens on the device that is to be positioned at the site entrance.
Before starting the set up: In order to progress from part 1 to part 2 smoothly, have the GoContractor Access App downloaded on to the device that will be at the site entrance.
Part 1 - Admin Portal
- Go to 'Add/Edit Projects'
- Look for the project that the workers will be checking in to
- Click the three dot menu on that project
- Select 'Check-In Code'
- A code will be generated and will expire after 30 minutes
*Only one code per project can be set up. It is not possible to have multiple projects associated to one code.
- Leave the code on the screen or write it down - the code is only viable for 30 mins
- Go immediately to Part 2
Part 2 - GoContractor Access App
- Open the GoContractor Access App on the device that will be placed at the site entrance
- Watch the three set up videos or select 'SKIP'
- Enter in the temporary code
- Click 'NEXT'
- Enable camera for the device (*camera must be enabled for the scanner to work on the app)
- The scanner will then open ready to scan worker QR codes
- Check-In for the project is now enabled on the device
- Test the Check-In scanner by scanning a worker QR code
Where can I see the Check-in activity?
Open the Check-in Activity area inside the admin portal to see the latest workers who have checked in to site.
