What are the user roles in GoContractor?

Learn about the access and tasks that each user role in GoContractor has.

 

GoContractor Roles

General Contractor Administrator (Admin): This is the top level access of a general contractor account. These admins can do anything and have the most power. 

This admin can edit, add, and remove content or users at any time. This admin will also have access to reports and notifications related to activity in the GoContractor account they are assigned to.

A General Contractor Administrator can:

  • Create/edit/archive divisions
  • Create/edit/archive projects
  • Create/edit/apply qualifications
  • Create/edit courses
  • Run reports
  • Manage admins
    • Withdraw admin access
    • Renew admin access
    • Edit admin access
    • Edit email
    • Resend email
  • Add useful documents
  • Purchase license packs
  • Approve workers

A General Contractor Administrator can invite:

  • Other general contractor administrators/admins
  • Subcontractor administrators/admins
  • Project administrators/admins
  • Managers
  • Internal workers
  • Subcontractor workers

Subcontractor Administrator: This role is designated for employees of the subcontractor company who are responsible for inviting workers to the construction project as well as additional subcontractor administrators.

A Subcontractor Administrator can:

  • Edit invitation on behalf of general contractor administrator
    • Invitation code
    • Link to share
    • Ask for consent to edit worker details
  • Purchase license packs

A Subcontractor Administrator can invite:

  • Other subcontractor administrators/admins
  • Subcontractor workers

Project Administrator: This role is designated for general contractor employees who have access to only certain projects as determined by a general contractor administrator. 

A Project Administrator can:

  • Edit the display name of a qualification
  • Make a qualification mandatory or not mandatory
  • Apply an existing qualification to an existing project
  • Delete (unapply) an existing qualification from an existing project
  • Run project specific reports
  • Manage admins
    • Withdraw admin access for other project admins and managers
    • Edit admin access for other project admins and manager
  • Approve workers
  • View useful documents

A Project Administrator can invite:

  • Other project administrators/admins
  • Subcontractor administrators/admins
  • Project administrators/admins
  • Managers
  • Internal workers
  • Subcontractor workers

Manager: This view-only role is for general contractor employees who have access to projects and data concerning user completion of courses or qualifications, and also confirm qualifications for worksite access or approvals.

A Manager can:

  • View workers
  • View subcontractors
  • View projects and divisions
  • View qualifications
    • But cannot click into them for details
  • View courses
    • But cannot click into them for details
  • Run reports
  • View admins
  • View useful documents

A Manager can invite:

  • No one

Worker: This role is designated for any direct workers or subcontractor workers invited to a project who must complete qualifications in order to become compliant and thus able to enter a worksite. 

A Worker can invite:

  • No one
